What are the two types of spondylolysis that affect children/adolescents?   The two types of spondylolysis that affect children are isthmic and dysplastic.  Dysplastic spondylolysis are from congenital defects where isthmic is a fracture usually resulting from repetitive movements of an adolescent in certain sports such as gymnastics or football.
