How much fluid will you give the patient during the first 8 hours?  How about the next 16 hours?  The patient weighs 70 kg.

You will use the parkland formula to figure this out.  Fluid = 4 x KG x %TBSA.  After obtaining your result, half is given in the first 8 hours and another half in the next 16 hours.  You would give this patient roughly 8200cc during the first 8 hours and then another 8200cc during the next 16 hours.
